Brian Capshaw
Associate Pastor of Young Adults and Young Families
Brian joined Second Baptist in April of 2025. He grew up in Middleton, a small town of about 700 people in Southwest Tennessee. He is married to his wife Dwana and they have been blessed with three daughters: Abigail, Hadassah and Amariah. Brian has an Associate’s degree in Physical Education from Jackson State in Tennessee and Bachelor of Arts degree in Christian Studies from Union University in Tennessee. Most recently Brian has been studying with the American Association of Christian Counseling and has earned both a Mental Health and Youth Mental Health Coaching Diploma in 2024. Brian has served churches in Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama, Missouri and Georgia.
Fun Stuff You Should Know: Brian enjoys all types of sports, especially football. He proudly wears Tennessee Orange and cheers for all teams Tennessee (Go Vols, Titans, Grizzlies and Predators). He is also a big St. Louis Cardinals fan. He enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, and riding his motorcycle. He also spends time following today’s culture and reading books that challenge him. Brian and Dwana love really good coffee!! They first met over a pan of raw chicken while they were working at Chick-fil-a (Romantic huh?).
